The reality: There is no known townhall ever held by Brianne Nadeau getting any feedback or explaining the rationale for changing the Comprehensive Plan land use map for 1617 U Street. And, there is no evidence the required impact studies were done to accompany these changes to the land use map.

In fact, a great many Ward One residents wrote to Councilmember Nadeau demanding she retract her last minute largely undiscussed surprise changes to DC’s Future Land Use Map in spring 2021.  See letter here.

Again, there has never been a “town hall” hosted by Coucilmember Nadeau about changing 1617 U Street to high-density downtown-sized zoning on this public land and no one in the surrounding low-rise historic districts has been addressed directly by Nadeau.  Also, no one knows of the “good feedback” that Nadeau references in response to the question above.
